St. Egidius square is the place where Poprad is alive in summer or in winter. Summer in Poprad is filled with cultural programme – concerts, movies, music, dancing performances and plays run through the summer months. Poprad is fun in winter too – Christmas market and events up to New Year’s Eve are popular, too.

Kostol sv. Egídia - Poprad, Spišská Sobota

If you love history and culture, we recommend visiting churches of Holy Trinity (kostol Sv. Trojice) and St. Egidius (kostol Sv. Egídia) or gallery Tatranská elektráreň. There’s no need to head far from the hotel. Spišská Sobota, the part of town where Hotel Sobota*** is located, is filled with amazing pieces of art, culture and history.

Scenic Spišská Sobota

Did you know that the town of Poprad is made of 6 parts, that used to be separate little towns? Spišská Sobota was the most important of them. Today it is a wonderful heritage site, attracting a lot of visitors. Our Hotel Sobota*** is located right in this beautiful and scenic part of Poprad.

Námestie v Spišskej Sobote | Hotel Sobota***, Poprad - Tatry, Ubytovanie, reštaurácia

We recommend heading on a pleasant walk to the main square in Spišská Sobota, where the majestic spirit of history is present to this day. Peace and beauty of the architecture is further highlighted by unique heritage relics. The dominating feature of the square is St. George’s church, where you can find an art piece from the famous artist Master Paul of Levoča.

After a walk we recommend heading for a cup of coffee at our summer terrace.
